Cheered me up when I was said.Let me know when I was off track. No, don't ever think you have failed , at least not as a friend. The rest sounds a wee bit like you are feeling sorry for yourself, which you have every right to but please , as a friend , I ask you to not dwell to much on those feelings. You are bright, knowledgeable young lady who writes beautifully and I for one am very glad to know you. I really appreciate the fact you not only took time to read my post & blog, but that you then took the time & effort to comment on it. I have begun reading your blog and am quite enthralled. I will definitely add you & your blog to my reading list, as well as add you as a Google friend! The knowledge, stories, and compassion you share online (and I am sure in "real" and everyday life too) are priceless! Thank you for touching my life & heart today! The world needs more people like yourself! On a side note, I was wondering if you'd share with me what your experience has been like living in South Africa? It's one place I've always been interested in visiting, ... in fact, there's a great school there I looked into back in 2004 which offers a dual program for PsyD & JD, .. one which truly sounded pretty awesome. May I quarry where your country of origin is? I read on your About Me post that you considered moving to Germany, so I am really curious as to where you're from. I forget sometimes that it's fairly common for those on that side of the world (Europe, Middle East, Africa) to travel and move about, at least more so than we tend to do here in the US. It's not very often you hear of someone moving about from the US to countries in South America and other regions in the western hemisphere ... so it intrigues me. Same can be said for the knowledge of multiple languages. My husband's father was born and raised in Greece (and resides there now after living in the US for a good 30 plus years), and he knows at least 5 languages fluently ... same goes for his family members in Greece. In general, the US doesn't put much emphasis on the importance of learning more than one or two languages (and with that second language, it's almost never thoroughly taught nor spoken fluently), and frankly, it's rather a sad statement if you ask me. Anyway, I've completed gone of topic! LOL. Thank you again for your beautiful words of encouragement, support, validation & plain kindness. I look forward to reading more about your life and experiences! Blessings to you & your family!Cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14053233700562337075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9160600851714389858.post-28595652120799151472011-10-18T12:08:15.716-07:002011-10-18T12:08:15.716-07:00Hi Cat,

I take my hat off at you for being optimistic and always struggling to keep your spirits up. i understand your illness as i am in the medical career myself and have seen a lot of patients suffering with what you have but you are unique as you are your own person and not your disease. I met this 35 year old patient who was diagnosed with cancer these last couple of months. She touched my heart as no other person did cause she always smiled when she saw me, even when she came to me to inform me what the oncologist had told her after i had referred her to one. I didn't know how to react to her when she walked with me in the hospital corridor talking to me about herself and her plans and then out of the blue offered me a cup of coffee....she looked to beautiful standing there with her blue eyes and shaven head and that dazzling smile....Anyways just hang in there dear and you are just sooo special......i always speak in my blog about going back to humanity and you are the epitome of it....luv ur blog...Dr Qhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00124660785700935894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9160600851714389858.post-88313043967022040622011-09-24T13:13:05.140-07:002011-09-24T13:13:05.140-07:00Hi Cat!

I am glad you have some answers now .. that's half the battle without a doubt. Without answers we know something's wrong but we begin to lose trust in our own body's & mind's .. sometimes even questioning our own sanity, which is certainly not a good place to be! Thank you for your compliments, that means a lot to me. You are the kind of person who inspires me to continue writing and sharing my story. I truly appreciate that you took the time to read my blog and respond. Obviously, we can relate well to each other .. and i have tremendous compassion for what you deal with everyday. It's not fun, not desired, and like anyone else, we do want to be active members of society, our families and our lives! Period. We do the best we can, and are constantly taught the lesson of "balance," as we must figure out how to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. And, as you said, we often "over do it" when we experience those "good days." I have found it so important to my life and sanity to have at least a few people who truly understand what it's like to live in a body which climbs an uphill battle with everyday that passes. While few in our lives have the compassion we need so desperately, there is most certainly some comfort found thru connections with others like yourself. Please feel free to email me anytime! You may also message me thru catluv.aidpage.com. I hope to hear from you in the future! My husband needs employment & even though the family knows I have a chronic illness, I get remarks like why don't you get a job? They don't know how I would love to get a job!But I know I couldn't handle it. There's no compassion/empathy anywhere around me. I hear I need to.... "get over it." The day/s I do feel close to normal, I overdo it! I can so relate! I'll think of you & I know it will give me strength. I hope you will have one of those "close to normal day/s soon!" Keep blogging! I honestly enjoy!! And love those kittys for me!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16760471780376172004noreply@blogger.com
